The Inline Marathon on JFK this past weekend appeared to be bloodless.
The weather, last minute volunteers, and a whole lot of luck conspired to head off what many of us feared could happen. Little dogs and unsuspecting pedestrians wondered onto the course but as the skaters raced past. Jonathan Souter, one of the more vocal concerned with race safety, showed up with a bull horn and took over management of the most dangerious crossing at 8th Ave and the Concourse.

But the nasty weather conspired to reduce the normal park users to about 1/3 of the previous weeks.
