The DAILY DIRT TAKE BACK THE PARK

A daily report on the happening in Golden Gate Park(ing lot)
Bay to Breakers 2006, The City becomes the Park for a few hours.
On Sunday the 21 a path of roadways, leading across the entire city of San Francisco, is turned into pedestrian space just like JFK in Golden Gate Park has been for 39 years on Sundays. People from all over the US come to enjoy this piece of autofree pavement for just a few hours once a year in the Bay to Breakers. Below is linked a quicktime move of some of the faces of folks that joined us on JFK this Sunday.
Sadly, as thousands of folks had gathered on the eastern end of JFK to dance, sing, and generally party down, a couple dozen San Francisco Police in cars and on motorcycles tried to force everyone back out of the Park. Apparently, no one had told them that it was a people's park on Sunday.
Remember it's not a Park it's a Parking Lot.
Up coming topic: Why there will be no Music in the Music Concourse, or Concourse (public gathering space) for that matter.
